This programme excels by its extraordinary and colourful versatility in style.

Viennese evergreens by Johann Strauss from The Blue Danube to the Radetzky March - colourful
fireworks of melodies and rhythms presented with a twinkle.

SWINGTANZEN VERBOTEN

When in Germany's Third Reich it was prohibited to dance to or play swing music, the red sun went
down on Capri ("Capri Fischer"), people swore themselves not to cry for love ("Nur Nicht Aus Liebe Weinen")
and escaped from the reality of war and dictatorship into the dream world of the new talkies made by UFA.
Yet again and again, with the absolutely verboten swing kids's counter culture, lively and cool music kept
popping up that paid homage to suspicious rhythms and that inspired an even more suspicious spirit...
